Play Areas within Longtown

Play Area Statement The Parish Council has been informed of rumours circulating regarding the play areas within the town.

We would like to assure residents that none of the play areas are being removed. In fact, upgrades have started at Lochinvar play area including a new skate park, exercise equipment and a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area).

A public meeting was held last year for residents to give feedback on the Dolly’s Brae play area. After the meeting the Parish Council have decided to keep this area by the river. This play area will be upgraded when funds become available. The plan is to patch and re-seal the current flooring, remove all the wooden equipment and replace with more durable metal equipment. The tree/hedge line that screened off the play area has been removed which now allows full visibility from other areas of the river side.
